Will I receive all of the unedited files?
I shoot in RAW format, which is the digital equivalent of film negatives, so all images do require a basic level of processing and editing. I do not give out those files, since they are incomplete and have not yet been "developed."
Additionally, I have a visual style that I’m comfortable with and cannot guarantee similar results if the photos are being processed by someone else. It would not be an accurate representation of my work or of the client or product being shot.
How do you accept payment?
Clients are booked through a secure online invoicing system that accepts all major credit cards and offers a Paypal option as well. The invoice includes a full contract outlining exactly what the booking covers and may be downloaded as a PDF for your records. Checks and bank transfers are accepted for corporate bookings upon request.
Can I make a deposit and pay the balance on the day of the shoot?
Payment is normally due in full at the time of booking. For large scale bookings that are at least 3 months away, a 50% deposit may be placed in order to secure the date, with the balance due one month beforehand. This system allows me to properly plan my schedule and also to avoid distractions on the day-of, so that I can focus strictly on capturing the images rather than administrative tasks.
If a last minute cancellation is necessary, the full payment can still be applied to a rescheduled session without penalty. In such cases, the rescheduled session need not be the same type of shoot, and up to two rescheduled sessions are allowed, with no additional fees for the change.
What is your turnaround time?
I guarantee a maximum delivery time of 3 weeks for all shoots, unless otherwise specified in the contract. My goal is to get the photos finished as quickly as possible, but I cannot provide a more specific ETC. Clients are notified the moment that their photos are ready (gallery links are emailed for online proofs and tracking numbers are sent for flash drives).
If you absolutely require that the photos be delivered sooner, a rush job can be ordered. However, rush jobs are placed into my schedule the same way that standard bookings are (full days are blocked off), so they should be requested at the time of booking or well in advance of the shoot. Rush job rates vary based on the length and content of the shoot.
Do you watermark your photos?
I do not watermark any of the high resolution photos that are sent to clients. The only time a watermark is employed is for the proof gallery, where clients can review all of the photos and make their selections. However, the large digital files that you ultimately receive do not have any watermarks or copyright text.
Do you provide videography services?
While I do have a background in film, I prefer to focus strictly on photography now. However, I do partner with several great videographers and can direct you to someone suitable for your event.
Do you have access to a studio?
My focus is on natural, on-location photography and I do not offer studio sessions at this time.
What equipment do you use?
I work primarily with Canon 1DX and 5D III cameras, a range of top level zoom and prime lenses, filters and 600ex-rt Speedlites, as well as an Aquatech sound blimp for noise-sensitive shooting environments.
What is a print license?
Some photographers require clients to purchase prints directly through them and do not provide digital files that are suitable for third party printing. For my packages, I always provide large size, high resolution digital files and the right to print through any alternative option that you prefer.
